Change a tab to pane by dragging it to the top / bottom / left / right edge of the current tab

Hi everyone,

Wouldn’t it be useful to have the ability to turn a tab into a splitted pane in the current tab by simply dragging it to the top, bottom, left, or right edge of the current tab?

Currently, I have to:

1. Create a split pane.
2. Navigate to the other tab’s path.
3. Close the other tab.

This feels inefficient—implementing a drag-and-drop feature could make this much smoother.
