the old SelectBox plugin allows to style hover/active option and the selected option separately.

would be nice and useful if you add 'selected' for selected option and 'active' for hovered options only, so you can style selected option differently

I agree. I will add support for this and release SelectBoxIt v2.6.0 tonight. Thanks again =)

I just released SelectBoxIt v2.6.0 that supports styling the selected drop down option via the selectboxit-selected CSS class name. Here is an example. You can get the new SelectBoxIt code here since it is not up on the CDN yet. Thanks for your issue!
