Provide a clear and concise overview of the new feature requested.

GEOS-Chem outputs dry deposition velocities of ACET, MOH, ALD2 and a few other species using GEOS-Chem model HISTORY collections for velocities over land and using HEMCO_Diagn.rc collections for velocities over the ocean. This isn't immediately obvious this is the case and I was wondering whether some additional text in HISTORY.rc and including commented out lines in HEMCO_Diagn.rc for the DRYDEP_VEL diagnostics would help clarify this?

The text in HISTORY.rc preceding the drydep collection section could be amended to something like "Dry deposition fluxes and velocities for all dry-depositing species, except ACET, MOH, ALD2 etc. that are calculated in HEMCO and can be saved out using the HEMCO diagnostic DRYDEP_VEL diagnostic"

Then for HEMCO_Diagn.rc, the line I've tested that works is in the following format:

DRYDEP_VEL_ACET ACET 101 -1 -1 2 s-1 ACET_drydep_flux_from_seawater_extension

If there are other ways to make this clearer to users or to hardcode outputting DRYDEP_VEL values for these species when the DryDep Collection is turned on, let me know. I'd be keen to implement the latter in the source code and share it with the community.

Will you be implementing this feature yourself?

Yes

Additional information

I can implement the hardcoded output, if the GCST thinks it'll be useful and not cause any issues.
