I was asked about how to use the Hadoop type provider with HDInsight. I think it's just a matter of documenting things like what to install and what DSN to use.

Hey Don, HDInsight should be the same as any other ODBC Hive Driver. The DSN is the name you give the connection as per https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/hdinsight-connect-excel-hive-odbc-driver/ .
