Fork recently notified me to activate it but 50 dollars is a big price tag for me, especially when I use git in a very casual manner. I love fork and would love to support it in the future, but I would also love to know what am I paying 50 dollars for compared to the fork I'm using now.

Fork is a paid app. The license clearly states this (https://fork.dev/license). If you can not afford it, you can use it without activation. There won't be any difference. I won't come for you.

Oh, I guess I misread that in the licensing, I thought that I would have to eventually buy it or else, I promise that I will though 😅. Thank you for responding and merry Christmas.
