Lotus releases

**Note: This projected timeline is subject to change based on testing, auditing, new discoveries, and development.

You may follow the development progress in #fil-lotus-dev, #fil-actors channels in Filecoin Slack where daily development happpens.**

You will need to be on Lotus v1.18.0 or ^ for the Network v17 Shark upgrade. [lotus v1.18.0)** is based on the last stable release, lotus v1.17.2, and includes consensus-breaking changes and a couple of necessary improvements for the Network v17 Shark upgrade. We recommend all lotus users to upgrade your node to this version as soon as the release is tagged.

Tentative Releases and Network Upgrade Timelines

• 2022-10-13, lotus v1.18.0-rc1 (Note: This release candidate only sets upgrade epcoh for Calibration-testnet, does not set the upgrade epochs for mainnet.)

lotus v1.18.0-rc2

v 1.18.0-rc2 is published today with a small enhancement on migration, details can be found here. This change does mean that v1.18.0-rc1 and v1.18.0-rc2 will result in different migrated states & break consensus.
❗ Therefore, for calibration participants, your node should be on lotus v1.18.0-rc2 & up before Thursdays for a proper network upgrade migration!! Update it TODAY to avoid losing sync / be on a fork on calib post Shark upgrade!

v 1.18.0-rc3 is published now, it includes a patch release of actor v9, details can be found here.

lotus v1.18.0-rc5

Calibration net was successfully reset. Lotus v1.18.0-rc5 is published with the support of the new Shark upgrade on calibration net, which is scheduled at @epoch 16800, around Nov 7th, 14:10 UTC. We welcome all community members to join the testnet and start testing!

lotus v1.18.0 final release is published

v1.18.0 is out and the complete release note can be found here. The Filecoin mainnet is scheduled to upgrade to nv17 at epoch 2383680, on Nov 30th on 2022-11-30T14:00:00Z. All node operators, including storage providers, must upgrade to this release before that time. Storage providers must update their daemons, miners, market and worker(s)/boost.
