Values cannot be entered in scientific format

This is despite them showing in that format when too small (e.g. precision)

In the end, this was due to a leftover assignment of default values in the method.

Edit: that was the reason why values like 0.001 also got overwritten by the default value when clicking on Generate. However, the issue of not being able to enter values scientific format still remains
