How to adjust column width?

Hello!

How the column width may be adjusted?

I tried to add "width" property under "Cell computed CSS" but it did not take any effect:

value ? "width: 1000px; border:1px solid; background-color:  rgb(220, 230, 241)" :  "width: 1000px; border:1px solid; background-color:  rgb(255, 199, 206)"

What is the proper adjustment?

Hi,

I just tried "width: 20px" and it works fine.
So you can define cell width with this CSS property.
That said, you can't ask a width that is greater than width provided for table by Kibana dashboard.

I also tried with "min-width" CSS property, but it doesn't work too.
Sorry, I have no solution for your need.

and does not take effect. Does it work for you

I use Kibana 8.15.3

I tried with Kibana 8.17.0.
That said, I think that it works only if you have several columns.
Otherwise, it will automatically take all table space.

Indeed, it works with 2 columns. In my original problem I have around 25 columns. Maybe the root cause is that there is some width limit for the whole table and even with automatic column width I overcome this limit by default. Thus, no matter what I specify in "width", it does not take any effect

Also, I noticed that it is not possible to make the width lower then some specific value. It just does not take an effect either. For example, I want to make it 50px and use word-wrap. I tried this:

"width: 50px; word-wrap: break-word;"

Is there a better solution than adding "
" via replace function to the text?

Well, it seems to be a pure css problem.
And sadly, it is well known that CSS has sometimes (often?) weird behaviors, quite ununsderstandable ;)

And so, I have to no magic idea to suggest to you.
