Is there a test that ensures that if you remove this and then reacquire the same resource later in the mutation phase, that it gets readded?

Do we really need to keep these? Aren't we just going to recreate them anyway? It's kind of an error state.

It was useful for stylesheets due to FUOC but for the rest.

Well the doctype doesn’t get recreated but I think you meant the resource check.
yeah I think I may have added this unneccessarily. It’s important for clearSingleton because acquireResource can happen before clearSingleton. But for clearContainer that’s not really an issue. I’ll remove

Any reason this couldn't just call clearContainer recursively instead of as a separate function?

To avoid a type check when called recursively. If we just called clearContainer we would need to recheck if the target is a Document or Element

Let's just figure out if we still want clearing or not since it adds quite a bit of code.
…has the instance re-added
…nd resource ownership in container
The last sticking point in unifying clearing is with We could add the check to clearContainer but it would slow down this pathway. There is also a minor perf issue, if we are mounting a new we will also mount a new head/body most likely. if the clearContainer is recurive we will end up re-clearing head and body twice which is redundant. I'll keep thinking about how to improve this but I'm going to merge the implementation with separate functions for now |
Stacked on #25508 This PR adds meta tags as a resource type. metas are classified in the following priority 1. charset 2. http-equiv 3. property 4. name 5. itemprop when using property, there is special logic for og type properties where a `property="og:image:height"` following a `property="og:image"` will inherit the key of the previous tag. this relies on timing effects to stay consistent so when mounting new metas it is important that if structured properties are being used all members of a structure mount together. This is similarly true for arrays where the implicit sequential order defines the array structure. if you need an array you need to mount all array members in the same pass.
