We're accumulating some options that people might want to set on a permanent basis:

  1. Color support (e.g. force 256-color support even under screen)
  2. Enabling readline (readline support #28)
  3. Setting a history file for use with readline

It might be worth thinking about setting up a config file at, e.g. ~/config/ircdog/ircdog.conf. (This adds quite a lot of complexity and should be approached with caution: on *nix we should respect XDG_CONFIG_HOME and similar.)
