EquoIDE runs Eclipse without OSGi, so it doesn't need OSGi metadata and it can install the plugin straight from mavenCentral.

But to use the plugin in standard Eclipse, we will need to add and maintain OSGi metadata and publish the artifacts to a p2 update site.
