HomeAssistant loose some Settings after some time

This i my first mqtt device. I am using otherwise CoAP.
I set up a mosquitto MQTT Server for ems-esp.

Everything looks good in HomeAssistant.
But after sometimes nearly every setting which i made (which room, which entities should be deactivated or hidden) is gone and it looks like the Entities are new.

What do I do wrong?

CoAP would be nice addition, and will save on power consumption and memory.

So you're making changes in HA and they get reset? I'll test this too. Do you have an example use case I can use?

What i change since months a couple of time is
sensor.boiler_outside_temperature
I set the entity to "Außen"

Then i hide at least 100 entities a couple of days ago and now they are all visible again
I deactivated some entities like binary_sensor.boiler_oil_preheating (I don't have a oil heater) and they are here again.

On The other Hand:
I gave all devices the Area "Heizung" and 2 out of 5 devices didn't loose this information oO

Entities of ems-esp didn't loose the setting to hidden, too...

No, the Thermostat didn't have an hidden entities anymore only ems-esp

I found ONE entity of the device thermostat which is still hidden:
binary_sensor.thermostat_hk2_holiday_mode

Okay the sensor.boiler_outside_temperature wasn't in home assistant anymore, looked into the ems-esp interface and saw that the connection to the ems-bus was lost.
After the connection was reestablished sensor.boiler_outside_temperature appeared in HA again without an area...

Why did the ems-esp think he have to remove a HA config?

EMS-ESP will remove any old HA configs when it starts up, so everything is clean (see https://emsesp.github.io/docs/MQTT)

From emsesp.log I can see EMS-ESP is crashing and restarting every few hours. Search for "Starting EMS-ESP". So this is why you are missing the entities in HA.

It's not good and we need to find why this is happening. There are some guidelines on https://emsesp.github.io/docs/Troubleshooting/#ems-esp-sometimes-crashes-and-restarts. It's either Power or Memory related.

Shouldn't that be the reason why the settings in HomeAssistant are gone after every restart? 🤔

I will look in the guidelines to find out why ems-esp is crashing but at the moment I don't know if it's good that everything in HA is deleted when the ems-esp is restarting 🤔
An simple power loss and every setting in HA is gone, really?
I bet without this at least the configuration in HA would stay...

no, only the discovery topics are removed. the HA entity and all the customizations are still there, but will show up as 'Entity not available' in the dashboard. This is a good thing because there is no data streaming in from EMS-ESP. And if it wasn't like that you'd have thousands of errors in your HA log file.

post here your support info and let's see what you've got running.
