Configuration changes not being picked up #1171

Describe the bug
Occasionally Ambassador does not seem to pick up any changes/updates for example after a deployment ( that includes ambassador annotations, but no changes to those ).
We end up with an envoy config that does not have a backend configured for that service.

To Reproduce
Deploy or Redeploy a service with Ambassador annotations.

Expected behavior
Ambassador should always pick up annoations and update the config accordingly

Versions (please complete the following information):

  • Ambassador: 0.40.2
  • Kubernetes environment: Azure AKS
  • Version 1.11.5

Additional context
We are not sure if the issue is related to AKS, still need to do some troubleshooting.
The issue is usually resolved by bouncing the amsbassador pods.

Closing as duplicate of #1039. Resolved in 0.50-rc4 and later.
