Firefly III Server Version:
5.6.16
Firefly III Mobile Version:
5.0.6
Android Version:
11
Device Information:

  • BRAND: Oneplus
  • MODEL: 7 Pro

Expected Behavior

when using HTTP with a VPN I should be able to connect to my firefly instance

Current Behavior

the connection gets refused because "HTTP is not supported use HTTPS", but HTTPS doesn't work with the VPN

Steps to Reproduce

Install and set up tailscale on smartphone + server where Firefly is hosted
enter Photuris and try to connect to Firefly using the tailscale IP
see it fail

I just bought the app and tried to use, but it's reporting that not support http.
As I have my setup running locally and access thru VPN, I requested the reimbursement and will buy it again when it supports http.
Following the app here in GitHub for updates.

Hi, I've a self-hosted FireflyIII on my LAN. Since it's a bit cumbersome to setup SSL certificates, it would be good to have an option to connect via http.

Same scenario: self-hosted and accessing via VPN.

A better behaviour would be to require https by default and have a check box to "Allow http". Then have the user confirm an unsecure connection when entering an http address.

Same here, I am self-hosting it and accessing via VPN

Same here. Self-hosted, using in LAN and via VPN. Please look into to allow http.
