same behavior is you type a wrongly formatted name in the text field and press enter (eg by accidentally wanting to use the field as a search field and pressing enter to apply the search).

Not bumping up rpiority yet but might do if too many people are encountering it.

I think this is #1047. I think #1047 describes the problem more clearly so I'm going to close this one.
