Steps to reproduce

  1. I had been using Element Web all day. My issue is similar to At startup, the Riot web rings unexpectedly. #4607 but not at startup.
  2. A DM room where I was being called on 9th June (6+ days ago).

Outcome

What did you expect?

No incoming call, if I am not actively being called.

What happened instead?

A phantom call, where the other person didn't call me again today, but Element Web apparently rang because of the room events from the past.

to confirm, was the DM encrypted?

(it is encrypted)

looks like it decrypted the event late and tried to set up the whole call again.

This happens to me reliably - every time I open my (encrypted) DM with Simon, I get a phantom call (rings, connects, no Simon on the other end). I'll rageshake.
