The idea is:

  • Make the 'Filter room list' also act as a fast room switcher.
  • Starting to filter the room list also pulls in results from the room directory (as a new RoomSubList section), as well as people who you haven't spoken to yet.
  • Arrow keys jump straight down into the room list to rapid select + enter to join
  • If you hit enter whilst typing in the roomlist box however, it'd take you to a fullblown spotlight-style search UI in the middle panel.

suggest ctrl-k or something to jump to the filter-room-list. this would be easy to do - patches welcome...
