Your use case

What would you like to do?

Apply syntax highlighting to text entered into the editor (like Discord does).

Why would you like to do it?

To warn users if their MD is malformatted or if they're using the wrong MD dialect, and because Discord does it.

How would you like to achieve it?

Whang CIDER through highlight.js

Have you considered any alternatives?

Alternatively, we could bring back the WYSIWYG editor for casual users, so they can't screw up their MD. But that's way more work.
