For 7.16 we are planning on developing the first (beta/technical preview) version of the GUI Script recorder (elastic/uptime#304).
The script recorder will go through numerous iterations, and at some point be integrated with Kibana/Fleet, however we are expecting the initial version to be a standalone application that users will use to generate Synthetic user journey scripts, which they can use (copy/paste) in their heartbeat.yml, into a suite, and/or into the inline script in their Package Integration monitors.
Collaboration
The docs team will define with product team the structure and location, and the product team will provide the initial content
Discussed with @EamonnTP and for the 7.16 release the Integration UI docs page should be updated to call out the existence of the script recorder, but focus on the docs and instructions mainly being in the repo.
We will review this again for the 8.0 release, and if that’s the time to move the repo docs over to proper docs pages.
Discussed in docs planning today. We will track this as we pass FF for 8.0 and approach the release date to determine if the script recorder is going through fewer changes at that point, and worth migrating to proper docs as opposed to those in the repo.
