Kibana version: 7.12.0, master
Browser version: chrome latest
Browser OS version: OS X

Describe the bug:
Brush event not working property on split columns data.
Please note - the value of visualization:visualize:legacyChartsLibrary is set to true for this test case.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Sample flight data

  2. Go to Visualize Library -> [Flights] Delay Buckets

  3. Modify existing visualization by adding additional bucket:
    image

  4. Press the update button to apply your changes.

  5. Now let's play with the Brush event

Looks like with new xy-charts we have the same issue

@alexwizp I can't replicate it for vislib, only for the new plugin. Do you configure anything else that I am missing?
