[Dashboard] Configurable Number of Columns

The resolution of the grid to arrange the components is too low for some dashboards/visualization arrangements, it would be great to have it it configurable e.g. in the settings/advanced page

We recently made the grid a lot more fine grained to help with this, but it's still not configurable.

We could possibly make it configurable but we'd have to store the current dimensions with the dashboard so we know how to convert from a dashboard saved at one setting, to another. Unless you make this a per dashboard setting - otherwise changing it could affect all your dashboards. At least, going from something very fine grained to something course, would change the appearance of the panels dramatically.

The more fine-grained we make the grid, the worse performance gets when building a Dashboard. If we build out an option to configure the number of columns, we should provide two options:

• dense, the existing mode, 48 columns
• standard a layout with only 12 columns

Leaving this open, as it is something we should think of to ehnahce Dashboard Usability.
