Double-click to expand a row #37096

Hi @markov00, Yes, that's right. I am currently running Kibana 6.7.1 Thank you. |
I would be a bit cautious about introducing a double click pattern (which we don't have anywhere around Kibana right now) in that single place. In general I don't think double click is a common (or intuitive) pattern among web applications. But I would highly appreciate some design input on that @cchaos |

Re: design input, I would agree that a double-click here is likely not the best solution. That said, I understand the point about making it easier to expand rows and believe we could come up with alternative improvements. I suspect people are using double-click to copy text - in this case, to copy keys and values from the table - which is more reason to avoid this interaction here. I would suggest renaming this issue to something along the lines of improving, or making easier, the interaction to expand rows. |
Thank you for contributing to this issue, however, we are closing this issue due to inactivity as part of a backlog grooming effort. If you believe this feature/bug should still be considered, please reopen it with a comment. |
Hi,
Currently, to expand/open a row to see the different fields within it, we have to click on the small black arrow icon located on the left of the banner.
I think it would be great to be able to expand a row by simply double-clicking anywhere on it.
