Describe the feature:

Since we merged #130546 we can now use Chrome (or Chromium) to see a print preview of a dashboard for printing on A4 pages.

This relies on the user being on the "print view" of the dashboard. It would be much smoother if we could just press ctrl/cmd+P when on the dashboard's "regular" page to get the print preview. Some of the reasons it was avoided initially:

  • A lot more HTML elements are loaded for the regular dashboard view
  • It is a bit more complicated to get the regular dashboard view to act as print media since many of the layout rules that exist must be scoped to @media screen, projector for them to not interfere with @media print rules
