If I create a gauge to display a count of results for a specific search, the case where the search returns zero results shows ":| No results found" rather than a gauge with a value of zero as I would deem preferable. I assume the same issue occurs for other visualizations also.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a gauge visualisation for a count metric with zero results

This appears to be a regression of an issue that had been fixed originally in version 4.5.0. See here for discussion:

I also would appreciate this feature was implemented. Showing several ":| No results found" messages in a dashboard with some gauge (or other) visualizations can ruin a nice dashboard.
Our business users don't like to view this kind of messages and this behaviour greatly condition the design of our dashboards.

This appears to be fixed in 6.0.0.

This appears to have been originally fixed in 5.0.0, and then regressed, as far back as 5.2.2. I'm going to label this a bug instead. I'll leave this open for the time being in the event that any fix should be backported to 5.6. (cc: @thomasneirynck).

Hey we unfortunately won't backport that fix to 5.6, since it's more a functional change than a bug, sorry.

I will close this issue, since the behavior has been adjusted since 6.0.

Is there a way in Kibana 5.6 to display 0 count instead of No results found?
