I am going to re-assign this to @elastic/kibana-vis-editors for now, because I think they may already have a similar feature, or at least a good workaround for this. |

@Raiu1994 thnx for submitting this :) We have it on our radar, we want to give the users the ability to assign the color of their preference to specific term. Here is the issue #101942. We are also planning to give the users the ability to save this configuration and re-use it. |
I have four machines whose logs I'm routing into Kibana. I'm tracking the state of each machine, and displaying the amount of time they are in each discrete state for the day. Three of the states are ACTIVE, READY and STOPPED. I want these states to have a specific color out of the color palette, but at the moment, STOPPED has just as much of a chance being Green as ACTIVE has of being Red.
A color dictionary which holds what specific colors in the color palette will be applied to what values in the dashboard would help readability a lot. I plan for this data to be displayed on a large TV in the manufacturing floor, so communicating how long a machine has been STOPPED versus how long it has been ACTIVE would be easier if I could control what color gets assigned to which value.
