The use case
The specific use case that came up is as follows:

, for when the profile was last edited.The current solution space
AFAIK, there's currently no way to specify relative timestamp (e.g.
-2d
) with Lucene query syntax. They could create a filter on thelastEdited
field, and edit the JSON into arange
query, but that's clunky. Along similar lines, they could enter query DSL in the search bar to enter a range query with a relative timestamp.The feature request
This would be possible via the UI if the Relative timepicker allowed to

field to be editable. Then the user could set their index pattern's time field tolastEdited
and set theto
field in the Relative timepicker to2 days ago
