Does Theia provide National Language support -- i.e. are the text strings separated so they can be translated? Are there any translations?

Likewise, is the UI enabled for accessibility?

Not right now, although there was some work done for i18n a while back, it never got merged as there was several issues for it back then. Might be worth re-investigating.

OK, so it's not I18N enabled. Has any work been done to ensure the accessibility of the UI?

As far as I know there was no work done for accessibility, only attempts at adding i18n. I think that with the increasing popularity of theia it would make sense to revisit those issues (starting with i18n imo).

@jopit would that be something your team could look into?

Any progress done with i18n lately?

i am not aware that anyone is looking into it.

@svenefftinge I wonder can we us vscode-nls and vscode-nls-dev. They are used to internalize VS Code extensions and should be pretty stable API wise.

Maybe SAP team can look into it :) @nachshv

@AlbertXiao1994 posted here:

The goal is to support localization (ability to change the display language), and also add support for vscode language pack extensions.

Hi, it seems like there are some changes merged. Any hint on when this is going to be released? Thanks.

@buzhidao77 The initial feature has been released in 1.17, while the full translation of Theia was released with 1.19. An epic that tracks the completion of the i18n feature can be seen in #10188. For documentation on that feature, see here.
