Jersey OSGi Manifest doesn't allow hk2-extra 2+, how to integrate hk2-extra 3.0.0?

The hk2-extra 3.0.0 release is only a patch release of 1.0.3. But we decided to increase the major number because there are 2.x releases in Maven Central which happened before 1.0.0 release. They happened before donation to the Eclipse foundation, while the versions in Eclipse Foundation started from 1.0.0 under the same artifact coordinates.

Here I tried to integrate hk2-extra 3.0.0 to GlassFish: #25366. However, Jersey OSGi manifest requires hk2-extra lower than 2.0.0.

I don't know how to address this issue now.

• Should we also release hk2-extra 3.0.0 as 1.0.4 and integrate it to GlassFish instead of 3.0.0?
• Should we ask the Jersey team to release a new version that allows hk2-extra 3.0.0?
• Should we adjust GlassFish build to modify manifests in the Jersey JARs to allow hk2-extra 3.0.0?

"Simply" - force Jersey to update dependencies and release new version :-)
Backup and temporal and problematic option is to "hack" manifests. I would first create a PR for Jersey, updating these dependencies.
