Is there a possibility to create a new release from the 2.x-maintenance branch?
I'm currently upgrading a project to JDK17, where this dependency would remain in version 2.x during a transition period.
The snapshot built from the 2. x-maintenance branch appears to work in JDK17 since it includes #966.
