[mini.pairs] Python docstring

Python docstring, usually surround by 6 quote as below,

def foo():
    """
    This is a python doc string
    """

Is it possible to acheive with mini.pairs where inserting """ makes """ """?

Sorry, no. By design, 'mini.pairs' works only on with two-character pairs (like (), {}, etc.) and can be conditioned only by two-character neighborhood (with neigh_pattern). This functionality is more suited for snippets.

No, not in 'mini.pairs'. The 'mini.snippets' module is planned, though.

Just for reference, I was very annoyed that typing 3 " inserted the fourth unwanted quote

"""|"

This, at least, solves that annoyance

  ['"'] = { action = 'closeopen', pair = '""', neigh_pattern = '[^\\"].', register = { cr = false } },
}

It uses prev neigh pattern to disable opening if right of quote. The downside is that you cannot insert quotes inside quotes but.. who does that? That wasn't possible bc closing action would skip the next quote, so... I like this solution even more
