I am experiencing the same problem here using a very recent development copy from build.rundeck.org.

[rundeck@wsgc-dev-centos63-1 ~]$ rpm -q rundeck
rundeck-1.5.1-0.205.SNAPSHOT.noarch

when running an adhoc command

Error performing request (loadMoreOutputTail): /rundeck/execution/tailExecutionOutput.json
I added read perm here:

[chuck@wsgc-dev-centos63-1 trunk]$ sudo grep adhoc /etc/rundeck/admin.aclpolicy 
  adhoc:
    - allow: [read,run,kill] # allow running/killing adhoc jobs

no joy...

after restarting the server, it worked. Should we need to restart the server for this?
