Check file smbstatus in download action

Hello together - we try to prevent open (not completely written) files from downloaded. We didnt find anathing similar to the upload mode (hide files during upload) for the download side.
So we decided to check if actions could handle the job.
The problem is that smbstatus is only runnable by root and sftpgo (running as service) cannot use sudo to do that.
Does anyone have an idea to solve that?
