Tell us about your request
Add fine-grained permission/scope to personal access token to allow updating DockerHub README.
This is a follow-up of #115.

Which service(s) is this request for?
Docker Hub

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?
I cannot automate updating the repository's readme to VCS's readme.

Are you currently working around the issue?
Disabling 2FA and reverse engineering existing APIs from the browser.

Additional context
The previous issue did actually mention that, people want to be able to update DockerHub description from the VCS.
Unfortunately, the issue was closed, but the feature wasn't fully implemented.
There is a corresponding feature in the hub-tool, but it requires the API to be available, which is why I'm creating this issue.

Is this an oversight, or intentional unanticipated consequence of not using auto-builds? I share the same use case of propagating readme updates via an external pipeline to the full_description field of an API call, with 2FA enabled.

Were you able to find a workaround that works with 2FA enabled?

I don't think such a workaround exists, unfortunately :(
