Description

I updated to the latest version of Docker Desktop on Windows with wsl2 (4.35.1 => 4.36.0) and got this error:

Image

After clicking on "Reset to factory default" I got this error:
Image

Reproduce

It happened after the upgrade without restarting my computer. After a Windows restart, it started correctly (but probably because I clicked on the factory reset button, all of my containers are gone.)

Expected behavior

It should start normally after upgrade without system restart.

Had the same problem, but after restarting windows without factory reset, it started correctly.

after upgrading to v4.36.0 also receiving similar error, downgrading does not fix, nor does completely reinstalling it. I am at an utter loss for ideas.

I am experiencing something similar too, but my docker won't even open. My upgrading process seems to have stopped in the middle, since the start menu shortcuts of docker desktop is removed and I cannot find docker in installed app list. I tried to manually remove the remaining files and reinstall it again but it won't open still.

Downgrading back to Docker Desktop v4.35.1 solves my issue.

WSL version: 2.3.26.0
Kernel version: 5.15.167.4-1
Windows version: 10.0.22631.4460
