In regards to #576 (comment), the doc specifies that environment variables are supported but, they do not work out of the box unless you build the container with the custom.ini file. This means docker run fails even when you pass variables using "-e".
With all other containers I've used environment variables work out of the box so, why can't it be made this way here also?
