For java (latest) / java:8 / java:openjdk-8-jdk.

When executing "java -help" in interactive mode, the process hangs.

Steps to reproduce (in Docker Quickstart Terminal)

$ docker pull java
$ docker run -it java
root@container-id:/# java -help
(or) root@container-id:/# java

Extra info:

$ docker version

Could it be related to moby/moby#12469? Maybe one of these workarounds: troubleshooting-cannot-enable-tty-mode-on-windows?

Indeed, it must be an issue with the local environment; I cannot reproduce:

$ docker run -it --rm openjdk:8 java -help
Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
           (to execute a class)
   or java [-options] -jar jarfile [args...]
           (to execute a jar file)
where options include:
    -d32 use a 32-bit data model if available
    -d64 use a 64-bit data model if available
    -server to select the "server" VM
    -zero to select the "zero" VM
    -jamvm to select the "jamvm" VM
    -dcevm to select the "dcevm" VM
                  The default VM is server,
                  because you are running on a server-class machine.
