+1 on this issue - one of the reasons we chose to enforce conventional commits on the UDS ecosystem was so that we could generate "well formed" changelogs. At minimum a changelog with a diff link would be nice, but ideally we would parse conventional commits and form into sections similar to release-please.

Semi-related and similar value would be generating release notes.
