All serialize should contain type information to know which class type can be used to deserialize.

• Model add BaseModel; store type in serialization #3335
• Descriptor store type in descriptor serialization data #3325
• Fitting store type in fitting serialization data #3331

We may also consider "@class": "Descriptor" which is more self-explanatory.
