Remark text highlight plugin

I am recently learning remark. However, the syntax tree and code style might be too complex for me... I've created a plugin that supports text highlight by copying learning from https://github.com/syntax-tree/mdast-util-gfm-strikethrough.

Here I'm using Astro to present this example.

But I am not familiar with how to write a plugin (many remark plugins use default export while mine don't), so please review my code and feel free to give suggestions. Thanks!

I don't know how to change the tag into <mark>, and the parser will generate <div> by default, so I tried to wrap the highlighted text with <span class="mark">.
