Expected Behavior

Using this library, I created an app that referenced a local secrets file. Trying to use the secrets file via the GRPC methods here should return the proper secret values.

Actual Behavior

The secrets content is always undefined

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

I've created a PR with a failing E2E test case that displays this behavior: #640
