Try removing Randall's Island. I doubt there are any intersections there that match the photos from the 1920s and 1930s, and its grid can be ambiguous with more important grids elsewhere.
There are three grid files. Can there be two? Or one?
Are there any losses due to normalization? Casing?
Purge geocache again
