Pages like http://prefix.cc/dc show me that there are various reasonable-looking alternatives. It would be great if the page would also tell me whether the non-preferred URIs have popular registered prefixes. For example, in the dc case, it could show me that dcterms is a popular alternative for the second URI.
Layout-wise, a greyish medium-sized “(dcterms)” at the end of the line (after the vote buttons) would do the job. It would be a link to the dcterms page.
