Podman requesting Rosetta

PC:
Chip: Apple M3 Max
macOS: 14.3

I installed Podman and QEMU as follows:

brew install podman
brew install qemu

podman info

OS: darwin/arm64

Now if running podman machine start I am asked for permission to install Rosetta. I am a bit confused and don't understand since QEMU is native for this architecture.
Or is Podman using some other version? Or is there something wrong with my configuration? Can anyone explain why this is happening. Thx!

I uninstalled Podman and QEMU installed via brew.

brew uninstall qemu
brew uninstall podman

Then downloaded and installed Podman Desktop for macOS and Podman CLI for macOS (tried podman-installer-macos-arm64.pkg and podman-installer-macos-universal.pkg) from the official site, however, clicking "Run Podman" still prompts me to install Rosetta. Although the documentation says the following:
Install Podman

Desktop and Podman using the .dmg installer rather than brew. The Podman installer has a QEMU binary that has been tested with Podman.

What am I doing wrong?
