Possibly pull backgrounds from online/via an api. If not that, then bake in some.

Maybe add backgrounds with repeating patterns for performance.
Ability to add videos/YouTube videos to the background.
Ability to change the opacity of the background.
Ability to toggle gif looping.
Ability to toggle video audio.
Possibly add background animations.
