We have had a number of users ask over the past year how they can financially support TSML and C4R. We are grateful for these offers, but needed to get some things in place before this was possible.
The first step was to create a 501c3 non-profit. After a couple of false starts, we realized the easiest way to accomplish this was in partnership with another organization that also provides service to great people like you, the volunteers across our fellowships. Like us, Recovery Non-Profit Tech is comprised of volunteers in recovery programs; while C4R focuses on software development, RNPTech (for short) supports deployment of our software as services and works with geographic service entities to provide administrative services. In fact, some members of each organization contribute directly to the other, and together, we believe we’ll continue to grow as a key partner in your technology infrastructure.
The website, code4recovery.org went live last month, even while remaining a work in progress. This basic website aims to satisfy a handful of goals. First, we wanted to provide an entry point for users (webmasters, meeting list coordinators and others) to get help, information, and configuration options. Here you’ll see summaries of our production products and projects in development. You’ll have direct links to those projects, and over time, more documentation and tutorials to help you implement our services.
Our second intended audience is potential new developers or IT practitioners interested in service with with C4R (or RNPTech). The website should give them a good overview of our work, and how to get in touch with us. If you know of some good candidates, please send them our way.
And finally, yes, we now have an e-Basket under the Donate tab! Our volunteers (C4R and RNPTech) have all agreed to provide their time and talent without expectation of compensation. And any monies you or your organization chooses to donate will only be used to cover costs or build up a prudent reserve.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the website, please open an issue here. If you have questions or comments about our structure and business side, please comment on this discussion.
As always, thank you for using our tools and being a part of our community.
