While we work for the automation of the current solution for Falco we might also want to start the discussion of a standardized set of benchmarking tests we would like to run.

It would be good to involve a benchmarking expert because we want to be sure to reproduce a meaningful scenario that reproduces meaningful metrics across different projects we will review.

Falco had a very specific set of Benchmark they already did some investigation on.

Open questions that might be answered:

  • What benchmark do we propose to a project that doesn't have strong opinions?
  • How do we compare the sustainability metrics related to different benchmarks?
  • What should be the target of a good benchmark? (CPU, Memory, Networking utilization?)
  • Is there a good literature we can refer to?
