📃 Iteration 58 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Typing improvements (migration to beforeInput, better IME support) – merged 🎉
• Migration to TypeScript – this will span across a few iterations. We're successively migrate next packages, close to 10 in this iteration 🍾
• Track changes integration with new features: code blocks ✅, HTML embed ✅, table caption ✅, document lists ✅, styles dropdown ✅, image URL balloon. This will be released gradually.
• Improvements on retaining SVG icon colors/styling (part1, part2).

Bug fixes

• Fix missing tooltips after destroying an editor.
• Focus management issues on Chrome.

Finally, more bug fixes and minor improvements are planned for the 58th iteration. See the list of issues closed in the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for Oct 26th, 2022, followed by releasing npm packages on Nov 3rd, 2022.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change, and even though we put all our energy into delivering all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
