Currently we can zoom horizontally with shift + scroll wheel and vertically with scroll wheel.

Some other softwares have a different behaviour and use:

ctrl + move horizontally right / left to zoom in / out horizontally
ctrl + move vertically right / left to zoom in / out vertically
