*Description:
CHAOSS Education is actively working on creating easy-to-use educational materials for newcomers and contributors to open source. As part of this effort, we aim to curate a comprehensive list of upcoming open-source software events and conferences. The goal is to provide a resource that highlights important events and gatherings that individuals new to the community, as well as seasoned contributors, should consider attending or following.

What You Can Do:

  • Research Upcoming Events: Identify key open-source events, conferences, and workshops scheduled for the coming months. This includes both in-person and virtual events.
  • Focus on Educational Value: Look for events that have educational tracks, workshops, or beginner-friendly sessions that would benefit those new to open-source or seeking to expand their knowledge.
  • Highlight Major Conferences: Include major open-source events such as FOSDEM, OSCON, All Things Open, and Open Source Summit, but also try to uncover smaller or regional events that may be of interest.
  • Provide Event Details: For each event, include important information such as the event name, date, location (if applicable), and a brief description of what the event offers, especially in terms of educational opportunities.
  • Diversity of Events: Ensure that the events represent a range of geographic locations and open-source communities, so contributors from different regions and areas of expertise can find something relevant.

Ensure to showcase events, that will help newcomers and contributors find opportunities to learn, network, and grow within the open-source ecosystem. Your contribution will also help CHAOSS Education create an accessible guide for the wider open-source community
