This is an excel add-in, it works locally, can't share it without going through an approval process to put it in the app store. relying on javascript that gets loaded into excel over a network feels less solid than something that is persistently installed on my computer. office add-ins appear to be the way to go for easy distribution, because otherwise you will have to get approval by IT to run an xll from the internet as far as I am aware |

question
Is there any way to develop something on GitHub that provides value to non-technical excel users? I am specifically thinking about functionality from chainladder
PyXLL or xlwings might work? I did a proof of concept for office add-ins (see below). Other avenue worth pursuing might be ExcelDNA, would involve creating a .NET library.
